We are looking into sending messages to Kiwi Syslog from a few login scripts. I have seen some references to a command line utility named klog.exe as well as some DLLs (and other VB libraries). However, I cannot find a way to download them or find them on the Kiwi Syslog server. Are these tools still available? If so, where? If not, why?

I tried to install Kiwi server on newly build WIndows 2016. The service starts successfully but console fails to start with below error. Is there something I need to do additional? Haven't seen this error with previous installs.

I need a solution for formatting an IP Address or MAC Address. I see that some records correctly format the IP address or the MAC address, but I need one record returned with the correctly formatted IP address and MAC address so that I can identify Internet traffic from a device. Is there a solution for getting these items formatted?

We are getting SNMP traps from differents WLC 2504 (Cisco Wifi Controller) to our Kiwi Syslog Server (version 9.5.1.59) deployed on Windows Server 2012 64bits. The following problem it was discovered when we saw all MAC-addresses appears in bad format (see file attached below). We need to change the file format from cldcClientIPAddress.0 to Hex String. How can I change this field from "Messange Text"? I captured the SNMP trap and appears in well format.

I am quite a newbie. I need to monitor something with (Free) Syslog Server. When I hit Select All in the Console and hit Copy Selected, if then try to paste all the
log entries into any other app., I only get one log entry line. Is this intended behavior, or is it a bug? If it is a bug, can anyone suggest anything?
Is there a list somewhere of exactly what limitations there are on the Free version of Syslog Server?

I'm quite a newbie to this. I am trying to do some logging of a device in Syslog server, and every time I Select all from the log window, and select "Copy Selected Item", when I go to paste those into any other program, only one log entry line gets pasted. Is this intentional behavior or is something wrong?
Is there a list of limitations somewhere for the Free version. There's a ton of documenation here, but if there is a list of limitations, I can't find it.

I had free version installed and could see logs in console without issue.
Installed 14 day full trial and no can see no logs. Have installed wireshark and can see the udp packets I am trying to see, so that side is working.
I see someone previously had this problem and they had to get a tool to remove old license or something?

I have what appears to be a simple filter, but it is not working. I would like to view all events from a particular server, except for login failures and successes.
I started simple to just show logs from the server except with event ID 4771. When I run the web query, it includes events 4771 for that particular server
I have tried with and without quotes.
I would eventually like to also filter out event IDs 4768 and 4624.

I'm looking at what we need to monitor to ensure that Kiwi Syslog Server is actually running OK.
The obvious metrics are :-
- "Kiwi Syslog Server" service is "Running"
- Process Syslogd_Service exists
- Is searching for "error" in the errorlog.txt a valid check?
We also plan to email an alert if we receive less than X messages in 60 mins, but if Kiwi Syslog Server is not running correctly,
we won't get this message!
Do we really? need to check if no logfiles have been updated in say the last 5 minutes ? (if log files are generally created at least every minute)
Any thoughts on how we can determine that KSS is actually running OK?

Is Month equivalent to 30 days?

I am hoping you can give me a hand with an issue that I am having. I have a number of servers in a DMZ that are logging to a central rsyslog server and then forwarding these messages to a KiwiSyslog server. Unfortunately when this happens all of the messages received by Kiwi are labelled with the hostname/ip of the rsyslog server and not their original source. I am unable to enable UDP Spoofing on the RSyslog server as the firewall will only allow traffic from this servers IP and not the spoofed addresses.
Take the following example:
InternalServer1 -> KiwiSyslogServer
-Kiwi is able to resolve the name of InternalServer1 and everything works fine.
DMZServer1 -> DMZRSyslogServer -> KiwiSyslogServer
-Kiwi is not able to resolve the name of DMZServer1 as the incoming messages are stamped with the IPAddress of the DMZRSyslogServer
I noticed in the help documents that there is the option to modify a message by processing it with a script. The example they give for "Fields.VarPeerAddress" is very similar to what we want to happen:
"Firewall device (192.168.1.1) ---> First syslog collector (192.168.1.2) ---> This syslog collector (192.168.1.3)
The Fields.VarPeerAddres value would be 192.168.1.1."
So would a script similar to the following work? Anyone have any experience with this?

I'm looking at backups for Kiwi Syslog Server and can't find any documentation on the subject.
Are there any recomendations for backing up the Kiwi Syslog Server for the following scenarios :-
* vSphere/Hyper-V snapshots,
* Enterprise backup software such as NetBackup for virtual machones or Windows servers.
* Bare metal Windows servers
I know vSphere will require VMware tools and Hyper-V will need Integration Services to ensure that the VM is quiesced prior
to the snapshot being taken.
WIndows bare metal servers will require the backup product to have an agent.
Are there any best practice recomendations or gotchas that I need to be aware of?

What is the difference between the various licensing levels of the Kiwi Syslog server (server, site, country, global)?
So i'm trying to accomplish the following:
I want the "MessageText" to appear in one, constant line of text instead of it being indented with tabs and enters for the subject, group and process information. Is it possible to achieve this? i've tried messing around with the logging formats and even creating my own, but no dice.
